About this show:
ana isabel keilson
Ana Isabel Keilson was born in Portland, ME. As a guest artist and collaborator, she has performed with companies including the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Co., Nugent + Matteson Dance, PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER, and Daniel McCusker Dance Projects. Her own work, in dance and video, has been shown at the Judson Church, Populous by AUNTS, Live Sh-- at the Chocolate Factory, 'Underexposed' and 'Body Blend' at Dixon Place, the Progressive Arts Network, the 2007 and 2008 Movement Research Festivals, Perishable Theater (Providence,RI) and Green Street Studios (Cambridge, MA). An independent choreographer and performer, Ana has been dubbed both a "diva" and a "smashing performer" by Debra Cash of the Boston Phoenix. As a guest artist and visiting company member, she has taught at various locations including Bowdoin College, Skidmore College and Barnard College/Columbia University.

In addition to her work as a choreographer and performer, she is the founder and organizer of 'the zine,' a free, DIY publication promoting the art and ideas of the NYC-based dance community. The zine currently has several issues in print and features the work of its contributor-base of over 40 writers.

In 2005 Ana graduated from Barnard College/Columbia University with honors in English and Russian. In addition to her own dancing, she is currently the film and video archivist for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company.
